We want you to enjoy your furniture for many, many years which is why we take great care in our prep work to ensure the paint binds properly to the wood.  Just as important as the prep work is the aftercare, and that’s where you come in.  You can expect your painted furniture to take on its own unique patina due to age, wear, cleaning and exposure to the elements, just as any other furniture would, but you can help keep that to a minimum with proper care.

We use only the finest quality furniture paint and materials, but we do use a variety.  This means that some products are sealed with a durable, non-yellowing topcoat while others do not require it because they are non-porous. Some products are UV resistant while others are not. No products, however, will be waterproof and we encourage you to take care on tabletops, use coasters and wipe up any spills right away.

So, what should you clean with?

A damp cloth with a little mild soap is all you need.  Definitely avoid cleaning products that contain alcohol and dimethicone (usually found in liquid furniture polishes) as these will damage the varnish and cause cracks to appear in the paint.

This is intended to be best practice in caring for your painted furniture.  Each piece from Casa Colorata will include aftercare instructions that are specific to the products used.
