Frequently Asked Questions

Please feel free to contact us if you need additional assistance with any queries.

A damp cloth with a little mild soap is all you need to clean with.  Definitely avoid cleaning products that contain alcohol and dimethicone (usually found in liquid furniture polishes) as these will damage the varnish and cause cracks to appear in the paint.

If you have any other questions or concerns about caring for your painted furniture please refer to our Aftercare page or feel free to contact us.

Should you change your mind and would like to cancel or return an item for a refund please contact us within 7 working days of receiving it to confirm your intention. The item(s) will then need to be returned within 14 working days of receiving it before any refund is arranged. If an item has been already delivered, the original delivery fee is non-refundable and any associated delivery costs with returning the item are your responsibility (unless an item has arrived damaged - see here). Items must be returned in their original condition and ideally in their original packaging, or suitable replacement packaging. Any damage to items incurred as a result of them being returned to us will be deducted from any refunded amount. We are unable to exchange items.

**** IMPORTANT **** Before buying a larger piece of furniture please check the dimensions of the item, the spot in your home that you have in mind for it, AND the access points (doors, corners, stairs, corridors) to ensure fit and ability to deliver safely.  Unfortunately, if we cannot deliver the item to your home due to access issues, we will be unable to refund any delivery charge paid.

Bespoke pieces purchased via our Commission Service are non-refundable.

Upon delivery you will be asked to fully inspect your purchase prior to signing the courier's paperwork to indicate that the item has arrived in good condition. This is to avoid any potential dispute further down the line and allows you an opportunity to identify and query any unlikely damage with the courier there and then. Any subsequent claim for damage should be reported to us with photographic evidence within 24 hours of delivery. We can then work with the courier to review the information provided and reach a resolution accordingly. Any claim will be treated individually and resolution options may include repair, partial, or full refund depending on the specific circumstances of the claim.

Small to medium sized packages will be shipped via Royal Mail First Class and the price will be calculated at checkout.

UK wide delivery is available via our reputable partner or I can work with a courier of your choice.  Delivery rates do vary depending on the product size and your postcode and typically range between £30-£80.  For an exact quote please submit the delivery quote form before completing your purchase.  We will place the item(s) on hold for you while obtaining the quote which could take up to 1-2 business days, but it usually comes back quicker.

All furniture is available for pick-up from our Lincoln workshop.

All of the pieces we sell are pre-loved, and in most cases vintage. Whilst professionally restored/refinished they are not new and therefore can be expected to show slight imperfections from their previous life.  We will always try to indicate the extent of this within individual product listings and photograph any particular areas of concern.

We are passionate about our work and consider it to be of professional finish. We use professional paints and tools and take great care in re-inventing each piece to be both aesthetically pleasing and durable.  All of the furniture is finished with a heavy duty protective coating or uses a paint that has a built-in topcoat to help protect  against everyday wear and tear.  While every effort is put forth to ensure brush strokes are minimal they are a part of the hand-painted process, thus they will still be there.

If you need any additional detail regarding the condition and finish of any items, please feel free to contact us.

Although we make every effort to display the colours as life-like as possible, please understand that actual colours may vary due to different monitors and screens.  We cannot guarantee that the colour you see accurately portrays the true colour of the product.

Specific paint brands and colours are listed on each product page and we encourage you to use that information to conduct additional research on any specific colour in question. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact us and we can arrange for a colour stick to be sent to you free of charge.
